Who we are
We are simply a group of aircraft owners and pilots that want to share the experience of flight with young people. We strongly believe that our love of flying will rub off on some of the young people we take flying. Without exception, we vividly remember the first airplane ride we experienced as a kid. We contribute our own time, money and aircraft to support the Young Eagles Program. We operate under the auspices of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
Why we exist
To experience again and again, through the eyes of a child, the feeling of ones first flight in an aircraft. More than half of our Young Eagle riders have never been in an aircraft before and most of the other kids have never been in a general aviation aircraft. The look of a young person after their first flight is priceless.
Our objective
To offer free first time airplane rides to young people between the ages of 8 and 17. We hold monthly flights at Ramona Airport on the 3 rd Saturday of each month at the Pacific Executive Aviation facility at Hangar #103. Most flights are approximately 15 minutes in duration and are flown in the general vicinity of the Ramona Airport. We often combine our flights to include other young people on the same flight. Most of our aircraft will accommodate 2 or 3 kids per flight.
Minimum Requirements for a flight
- A signed parent or legal guardian permission form for each child flown
- Parent or guardian to accompany their child to the airport.
- Willingness of the child to participate in the flight.
- Child should be in good health and not suffer from a strong head cold.
